A {Bittersweet} Sound Bytes of the Week

Happy Friday…

Sorry for the extremely late post. Jeez…

The world just keeps whizzing by and I often feel like a bystander in my own life, and today is no exception.

Another road trip is on the itinerary. However, this time I’m not alone. The whole family is traveling to Duluth to meet MORE family so we can finally put my dad to rest.

It’s a bittersweet visit, as we are trying to make the most of it. Turn it into a vacation of sorts by planning train rides and a quick visit to the Mall of America before we make the LONG trek back home.

Weird conversations about who has the ashes invade my joyful vacation plan.

I try to stay focused on the fun, the happy, the joyful, and not dwell in the sad. It’s time to move-on to remember with a smile not with a tear.

As the car glides down the highway headed north to where white sails billow on a crystal blue lake, I’ll take some time to make you smile today.

Here’s this Week’s Bytes…

3. “Punch it Dad.”
E definitely likes to speed around in the car…maybe that’s why I get so many speeding tickets.

2. “He’s getting so big.”
This was more of an internal thought as I watched my guy meet his kindergarten teacher yesterday. Due to his anxiety issues we planned an individual meet and greet, and the big guy made me so proud. I have a STRONG feeling that I’m going to be a basket case the first day of school.

3. “ Coomin, Commin.”
G has been saying Coming, Coming whenever we are trying to get him to hurry up. It quite cute and takes my mind off the fact that we are running late {at least for moment}.

So what did you hear this week? Something funny, something sweet, something crazy…Whatever it was share it here.

Have a great weekend everyone!

May it be full of smiles.
