Squee! Guess what?
It’s my SITS day.
Ok, I’m sure all you non-bloggy peeps are wondering what that means.
Here’s the scoop.
The SITS girls are Tiffany Romero and Francesca Banducci, they are the masterminds behind Bloggy Bootcamp, and THE resource for Women in Social Media.
They are nice enough to host a featured blogger each day, and today’s it’s yours truly.
So, welcome friends, new and old.
On Fridays, I do something special around here called the Sound Bytes of the week, but before we get to those I’d like to give the new folks a little info about me and WHY I do the Sound Bytes of the week.
I’m a faux redhead, who met my hubs online {back before it was cool}. I have two boys E and G. E is the oldest and is the source of many Sound Bytes. G is the little redheaded one, and I’m sure he will give his brother a run for his money once he starts forming complete sentences.
The Sound Bytes originated on my Facebook page. E was saying so many hilarious comments I just couldn’t keep them to myself. Once the blog was created it seemed natural to let them have their own place in posterity. The Sound Bytes aren’t just limited to my immediate family now everyone is fair game. You never know it might be you!
If you want to get the nitty gritty details about our life, take some time and peek around this lovely space.
Now on to this week’s Sound Bytes.
3. “I’d rather lose as a Hawkeye than win as a Cyclone.”
Yeah, that was my one consolation after last Saturday’s loss to our nemesis Iowa State. Hopefully we do better this Saturday, I’m crossing my fingers.
2. “Cous cous is hot.” {insert loud blowing and spitting}
G is finally starting to form sentences. I’m just impressed he said the word “cous cous”.
1. “E where do you get all your energy from?”
“Oh, Mimi from the sun of course.”
Well, of course. If only the sun gave me an ounce of his energy…then the laundry would be done, the house would be cleaned and I’d have novel written. Oh, bring on the sunshine.
What did you hear this week?
Link it up, or post it in the comments. Don’t forget to grab the Sound Bytes Button in the sidebar.
It’s going to be a busy day and night … huge Luau party at work. Looking forward to trying the hula.
Have a GREAT weekend.
Aloha and GO HAWKS!

Happy SITS Day to you!
He says some cute things. Mmm, love cous cous.

THAT is HILARIOUS!!! I’m going to use that at thanksgiving. I think it’s perfect.
Congratulations on your SITS day. I hope it’s a great day for you.
My kids are 14-21, so our sound bytes are quite different around here. My favorite this week is from my nearly 16-year old son. I shared some random fact with him. He said, “I don’t care. I care about you. And I care about the things you care about. But I don’t care about that.” I told him to save that one for marriage because it’s such a great answer.

AWWWWW…That is too sweet. I hope my boys say sweet stuff like that when they are older. And yes, that is a GREAT marriage response, perhaps I’ll share that one with the hubs.
Happy SITS Day! Enjoy!!

What a cute idea for a link-up! I love your Sound Bytes button! My girls now talk in paragraphs, and I should write down some of the stuff they are saying, but it’s hard to remember it all!
Congrats on your SITS day!

It’s hard for me to remember too, but I’ve been trying to use the notes AP in my phone and I jot them down during the week. Rereading them gives me some good giggles.
Happy SITS day! Looks like you have a fun blog, I’m looking forward to having a look around. Great idea for the sound bytes!

Congrats on your SITS Day! I’m a working mama, too, and I wish we were having a party at work today. Then again, I’m working from home today, so I guess I could make my own party…

Hope your work week is going well…I’m glad I found another fellow working mama {not that we all don’t work hard}, but it’s different working outside the home and maintaining family life, personal life and my sanity. I’ll have pop by and check out your space. And definitely make your own party whether you are at home or work.
Happy SITS Day! I’m loving this blog already.
I can’t wait to check out more of your stuff!

I can see where E is coming from, because I have a lot more energy on a sunny day than a cloudy/rainy day. I have the hardest time cleaning on a bad weather day, but could clean all day on a nice day. It’s a little backwards. I should be getting outside on a nice day, but I’m weird.
Happy SITS day!

Happy SITS day. When I was a kid, my grandmother went to Hawaii and sent me back this adorable little dress. I was five. I was SO SAD when I outgrew that. Your Luau totally brought it to mind.

Yay for your SITS day.
Seeing how great you look inspires me to consider signing up for a race to get some motivation to exercise more.

Glad I could provide you with a little motivation…I say go for it. My philosophy is I just had to finish, I didn’t care about my time or the other racers just me.
Congrats on your SITS Day, I am looking forward to exploring your blog!

Happy SITS day! I’d be here anyway, though. I’m supposed to be a SITS Gal, but am a total slacker when it comes to visiting those who are celebrating their SITS day. Sigh…
And E is too darn funny about rather losing as a Hawkeye than winning as a Cyclone… Love it!

HI! Friend!!! Thanks for stopping by and linking up so good to see you. I think it helped that I met Fran and Tiff face to face…I think they remembered my embarrassment when I didn’t recognize them. In my defense I was totally nervous and profile pics don’t look like anyone in real life. Hope you had a fab weekend.
Enjoying your blog. I really like the notebook paper look of your page. So cute and school-ish. Going to check out other links!

I wish I had a soundbite to share… my mom tells me to write ‘em down, but I always forget. Most of the time they involve my baby girl saying something about “man boobs” – she finds those things hilarious. Looking forward to reading more! Happy SITS day!

I think anything mentioning “man boobs” qualifies as an AWESOME sound byte. Since I have boys our are about farts and burps, it’s great {insert eye roll}. Oh, and man boobs are totally hilarious so who can blame her for talking about them. Have a great week.

Hi Lovely Lady!
This post was lots of fun! Kids are such a blessing! Thankfully, for those who can’t have kids, adoption is an option. I’ve got 4 of my own, but we’re open to adding one more through adoption, just don’t have anyone in mind yet.
I also love Miss Robin’s reply above. That was so sweet

Happy SITS Day! Your little ones’ one liners are so cute! I have a red head at home- just 8 months old and I hope she stays red! Her dad’s from Ireland so she comes by the red naturally. And I met my hubby online before it was cool too- married 7 years and together for 9! Thank you Match! I enjoyed the visit!

And yeah, I thank heaven everyday for the internet, without it I wouldn’t have my hubs or meet such great people. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy SITS day and congrats for being a featured blog. Already likeing your blog and can’t wait to read more.
