Happy Friday!
Did you notice I took a blog “break” last week? I know you all missed your Sound Byte fix.
Sorry, about that, but sometimes mama needs some time to regroup and renew. I’d like to say that it worked, but I think the only way I will fully relax is if you ditch me on a beach with a fruity umbrella drink in my hand and take away all my electronic devices. {Which would probably make my family jump for joy}
This week has made me long for that beach, as it’s been a tad on the chaotic side. The only word I can use to describe it is WHOA!!! {Imagine it being said in a Joey Lawrence voice}
Let me lay it down for ya…
Monday, kid exchange and hanging with little red at work for a bit because he had the day off from school.
Tuesday, 10 a.m. phone call that the big kid was sick, tag-teamed that sick day with the hubs.
Wednesday, E’s doctor appointment.
And last night … well … after a tour that made me a half hour late for a teacher meeting which made the teacher meeting run into bowling time, and THEN finding out that E needed a Tie Dye shirt for his school Olympics team. {which BTW how is tie dye an actual color, I’m just sayin’} B2 had to take two ravenous kids out to eat and then scour the city looking for a tie dye shirt {in the fall}, which is impossible. I think I called EVERY STORE in the IC area, and at one point told the sales lady “I don’t care if it’s a boy shirt or a girl shirt, just something that can fit a 5 year old.” To which she laughed apologetically and said “sorry” in that empathic I-know-I-just-ruined-your-night voice.
Luckily, at the eleventh hour social media came to the rescue and I found a local mom with the PERFECT tie dye shirt {Three cheers for Mary}.
Crisis averted, but after all that I just fell into bed. Dreaming about tie dying shirts of course.
And that my friends is part of the reason for the delay in today’s Sound Bytes, that and I had to pack our stuff for our weekend “camping” trip that may, according to the weatherman, be a tad rainy. Oh, well….
So, thanks for listening to my debacle of a week, the good thing is Mulligan Monday will come soon enough, so next week I’ll have a do over.
Here’s some Sound Bytes to make you go Whoa…
3. “I want to be a giant dot and then I’d eat myself.”
E just loves DOTS it’s the only reason he likes going to the Homecoming Parade.
2 “Mom I think I need a haircut to control my long flowy mane.”
Ok, big E it’s not THAT long, but it does need to be cut. About the time he gets that little pointy part in the middle of the forward is when we need to grab the scissors.
1 “Hey G say wiener and butt.”
“Wiener butt”
{insert belly laugh from E}
“Wiener butt, wiener butt, wiener butt…”
G repeated it over and over and over…oh E you little troublemaker. I see this as only the beginning of what you will talk your little brother into.
What made you go Whoa this week?
Well, that’s it from here, hopefully the rest of my workday will be more low key, and my weekend … well let’s just hope for campfires, giggles and maybe a beer or two {for me not the kiddos of course}
HAVE WHOA WEEKEND!!!

Ugh… We had one of those crazy weeks, too. With sick kids and shifting work schedules and blah, blah, blah… Hope you hav a super weekend and don’t get rained upon too much!
