Hope: BPM

I threw it out there.

Literally chucked it into cyberspace and held my breath.

You know those moments when you pour your heart out in this space and wait {im}patiently for comments. Longing for someone to validate your feelings or empathize with you.

Waiting for someone to tell you that you’re not alone.

Well, it happened.

My net answered with thoughtful words, cyber hugs and prayers of comfort. The out -pouring was immense, and in the midst of all the kind words I finally found hope and comfort.

We sat there having lunch and I poured out my heart’s song. Telling her about our struggles and my guilt. She was so quiet through it all, not saying a word, just looking at me with caring eyes. When I was done and the tears were falling from my cheeks she held my hand and said, “My friend I will pray for you. But I want you to know one thing, that little boy’s soul chose you, because you’ve already battled your demons and won. He knows YOU are the only one that can help him.”

The tears increased and I openly wept, not because I was sad, but because I finally found hope.

“Mom,” he said with smile. “I love you more than anything.”

“I love you too,” I whispered.

He held me tight. Squeezing me so hard I thought I might lose my breath.

And in that moment hope filled my soul.

While Pandora is to blame for opening the box and letting evil out, she too is responsible for bringing hope into our lives.

So often I miss it, or lack faith in it, but it’s there in the words and actions of our daily lives. I just have to stop and look.

This week as week waited for Santa, and spent quiet moments together as a family my faith in hope was renewed, and I look forward to 2013 with HOPE in my heart and peace in my soul.

Wishing YOU Hope and Peace for the New Year as well.
