An {Awakening} Sound Bytes of the Week

 

Greetings and happy Friday!

 

I may or may not be changing into shorts later, because it’s a balmy 40 degrees here in the Hawkeye state. Woot!!!

 

Bring on spring.

 

Of course with spring comes our foray into daylight savings time.

 

UGH…this spring ahead crap truly messes with me for weeks afterward, and the kids too. So NOT looking forward to it. Although, ask me in two weeks and I’ll be happy I’m not driving home in the dark, so there is that.

 

I do have something fun to look forward to this weekend.

 

I’m hosting a little soirée at my house tomorrow.

 

There will be a wine tasting, homemade {healthy} food, and we will be channeling our inner Picaso while artist {and super awesome friend} Michelle Pendergrass teaches us how to paint.

 

Seriously…my soul REALLY needs this right now. I can’t even tell you how this winter in all its infinite coldness, stupid late starts and snow days has sapped my creativity.

 

I’m hoping that as the snow melts and the trees begin to bud, I too will finally awaken from this seemingly infinite hibernation state, and begin to write and create again.

 

Of course some girl time, wine and art always help aid the creative awakening.

 

And…some Sound Bytes of the Week works too.

 

3. “Mama if I had dragon I would fly it around and catch you a whole bunch of fish. Then the dragon could breathe fire on it and cook it for you.”

This is the answer to my dinnertime dilemma. A dragon solves everything.

 

2. BigE “Mom so like will I get a birthday?”
    ME “Of course. Why?”
    BigE “Because it’s in spring and spring won’t come.”

Awwwww…

Little Red loves that song especially while using the potty. Oh…boy.

 

Well, that’s all she wrote and in 2.5 hours I will be free to go clean my house. Yipppeee!!! One of the hazards of hosting, but it will be totally worth it.
