Hello Monday!
You are still a struggle. We have a young redhead who keeps having nightmares and waking us up at 3 am. It’s terribly hard for me to get back to sleep once I wake up.
My brain refuses to turn off and I keep thinking of the new world we are living in. It’s a scary and confusing time. So of course, my brain wants to solve all the world’s problems at 3 am 🙄 Come on brain get your shit together.
On a lighter note, I’m just calling this early summer. This is exactly what it’s like working from home with kids during the summer. It was easier to reframe it today since it was sunny and warm. ☀️
The kids spent hours outside. I got some work done and we all had a few laughs in the process. 😁
So cheers to an early summer 🙌🏻 Also this summer doesn’t include trying to fit into a swimsuit, so winning.

Today I was lazy. I chilled with the kid and watched The Masked Singer and The Bold Type. It was nice.
Sundays are usually spent prepping for the week. Laying out my calendar, planning work appointments, and to-do lists. It wasn’t much different although my calendar is emptier.
Since I had some open times, I put a call out for virtual coffee dates and the response was overwhelming. We are all craving connection right now. So get out there and continue being social from a distance. It will be the best part of your week. ❤️
I’d also like to bring up something I’ve been seeing A LOT on the Interwebs. It called crisis criticism. Here’s the deal we all react to a crisis in different ways: humor, memes, political posts, rants, funny videos, sadness, or in my case just inquiring where to get a Starbucks cold brew.
Please don’t attack people for trying to find normalcy in the chaos. For posting funny things. For not being positive…this one just burns me.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE POSITIVE 💯 % OF THE TIME
ESPECIALLY DURING A CRISIS.
Please allow people their feelings. ❤️
As we found out today this is going to last another month. So be kind to one another and grant each other grace.

It felt like a normal Saturday with a few exceptions. Normal included, deep cleaning the house. Break out the Clorox wipes things were getting crazy up in here. 🙌🏻 I also had the joy of chiseling gum out of the dryer. Because the eldest didn’t check his backpack well enough and washed a dried a pack of gum 🙄 For future reference if you take a damp drier sheet and set it on the gummy spots for 15 minutes you can just wipe up the sticky stuff. Thank you Interwebs.
I also had a friend porch drop flowers this morning ❤️ Such a much-needed surprise. 🌹🌷🌸
Since it was 60 degrees I took the dog for jwalk (a jog/walk) Do you know how hard it is to social distance while everyone in the entire neighborhood is out jwalking too? It’s freaking hard! I crossed the street over a dozen times, walked into the road, and jogged in the grass. 🙄 That wasn’t part of my normal, nor was a Saturday afternoon run. Nor was seeing a face mask crumpled on the sidewalk. 😞
This evening’s not normal will include a group viewing of Tiger King with my friend in Chicago. This not normal is a nice new change, and one I wouldn’t mind continuing.
So all in all a good (not) normal day with laughter, sadness, frustration, and gratitude.
What did you do today that was good (not) normal? .
Have a great weekend and be kind to one another. ❤️
