This post is part of my partnership with the US Cellular Blogger Brigade Ambassador Program.
She brought it over one day, and we stared at it in wonder. It was a phone in her car. Yep, I was totally jealous. Never mind the fact that it was the size of loaf of bread and weighed as much as a small child. It was a phone in HER CAR!!!
That was over twenty years ago. Before the internet and Facebook. When connecting meant calling a land line and getting a busy signal. You know “the olden days.”
Ten years after that jaw-dropping experience, I purchased my VERY first cell phone, a tiny little Nokia. It had a pink cover with butterflies on it, and the hubs dubbed it my Barbie phone. I loved that phone.
It took me a while to bite the bullet on buying a cell phone. I kept hearing horror stories of crazy contracts and outrageous phone bills. So, when it came time for me to make the decision I did my research and found that in our area US Cellular was the one to choose.
Five phones and a decade later, a lot has changed in the cell phone world. My fancy Samsung phone can fit in my back pocket instead of a suitcase, and …
It reminds me to pick up the hubs birthday cake.
It connects me to my mom every single night on my way home from work.
It keeps track of grocery lists and the Sound Bytes of the Week
It snaps cutie pie photos of my boys so I can share them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
It keeps me connected.
With all the changes in technology and my life, one thing remained the same, my relationship with US Cellular. There was a brief moment where I thought I’d switch, because of that phone with an “i” in it. Yeah, within four days I switched back. I wanted to be connected NOT disconnected.
If you are looking to stay connected, you can make the switch too. US Cellular makes it easy, and there’s no contract. Just points that you earn, just by paying you bill. Easy Peasy.
Other than my 4 day trist with that other company, US Cellular has been there with me every step of the way, through broken phones, dead batteries and even the dreaded toilet incident. I’m not the easiest person to work with when my phone is on the fritz. I get a little cranky, you know because without it I’d be disconnected, and that my friends puts me in panic mode. But the staff at US Cellular are always so understanding and helpful. They didn’t even laugh about the toilet incident.
In all those years I have never missed a text, phone call, message or status update. Now that’s staying connected!
Which is probably why they were named a J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Champion in 2012 for the second year in a row. In 2013, the company also received their 15th consecutive J.D. Power and Associates’ award for “Highest Network Quality Performance Among Wireless Cell Phone Users In The North Central Region.”
Because staying connected builds BETTER MOMENTS.
Do you remember life before the cell phone? What is one of your BETTER MOMENTS you owe to the invention of the cell phone?
