This morning if you were heading into downtown IC you might have seen a silver Sonata bouncing up and down with hands flailing wildly in the air.
Your first instinct would be Uh-oh who was having a fit which on most days is a regular occurrence. But today…today we danced!
We danced in the car on the way to school. Sometimes we roll like that. We crank the tunes and sing (mostly me) with E and G as my back up dancers. Our arms wave to the beat; we play air drums and weave our heads from side to side (which is super cute when G does it.) Today though was different, something happened and I cried while we danced (cheesy I know). But at that particular moment while we were giggling and dancing the chaos called “My Life” melted away. I forgot we were running late, that B2 is sick, that E has been having “issues” at school and that work is CRAZY.
For once in my life I just drank in the moment and savored every drop. And it was good.
>Aww cute!! Sounds like a fun ride!
>Brook!!! Exactly what BPMs are all about! You totally nailed it.
I love that you had a dance party in the car. For whatever reason, music and dancing just make life so much brighter.
I've been meaning to email you; we have just had one thing after another and I've been a terrible blog reader lately. But I think you, lady, quite often. Hope we can catch up soon — maybe next week when I'm "off" work.
Also, I'm TOTALLY stoked you joined us for BPMs!
>dance parties rock! Isn't it amazing how our kids can make us cry at the drop of a hat? Motherhood is awesome. Great bigger picture moment. 🙂
>great pics BTW. 🙂
>When I was pregnant with the first of my four children, I'd wonder what it would be like with a little one in the backseat, singing and dancing to songs I love. Your description of your little guys enjoying the moment, living fully, and bringing you into it with them, brought tears to my eyes.
This was such a sweet, poignant Bigger Picture Moment!
