In 35 days my mom and step dad will be back in Iowa PERMANENTLY!
Ironically, it was 35 years ago that my parents divorced. My dad raised me and while I spent weekends with my mom, it wasn’t the same. And there was a void.
A void that couldn’t be replaced by daily phone calls or once a year visits. I missed doing just everyday things with her.
But now, now all that’s changed and she will be here…right here…
So in 35 days …

The whole family can head to moms for Sunday dinner, and some homemade dinner rolls.

Mother daughter mega shopping trips will be taking place on a regular basis and we might even renew the tradition of shopping on Black Friday.
-
Holidays will be celebrated with more than just the four of us.
-
I will be able to take my mom to all the cool places inIowa City, like the Farmer’s Market, the Ped Mall and of course maybe a football game.

We will have an extra set of hands in case the flu invades our house.

A trip to The Mall of America is in the near future {for sure}.

A trip toChicagois in the near future as well.
And BEST of all the thing I will look forward to the most…is just being able to pop over to her house say “hi” and have a cup of coffee.
It’s only taken 35 years and 35 days for that to happen, but I’m VERY thankful that it did.
