A {Celebratory} Sound Bytes of the Week

If you haven’t heard already, I turned a year older this week. While I’m fine with turning a year older, it’s been a tad surreal knowing that I’m only a breadth away from turning the big 4-0.

I wanted to do something special to commemorate this transition into a new chapter of my life. Which is why this will be the year of Gratitude, I’ve neglected it for almost 40 years and I’m taking this year before I turn 40 to make up for it.

So, on each day for the next 365 days I’ll express my gratitude, through photos, status updates, blog posts or shouting it from the rooftops. It’s time to appreciate the life I live out loud!

Share your gratitude posts, status updates or photos with my by using #GRATITUDE40 or post them on my Facebook page.

Other than the big birthday, our week {thankfully} has been pretty low-key, which means we are actually eating dinner together, I had time to help E with his sight words for school and I watched the season premiere of Walking Dead with the hubs {quality time}.

How was your week?

Even though our week was low-key our Sound Bytes were not…

3. “Flamingo.”
Out of nowhere G just yells this, as I look around I spy a pair of black and gold flamingos in our neighbor’s yard. How on earth does he know what a flamingo is?

2. “Mom you know how MSU and Iowa played football to see who would win, I think that’s what Romney and Obama need to do for the debate. Just play football. Unless it’s rainy.”
Did my five year old just say that? I personally would tune into a football game debate, sounds like a perfect solution to the political BS I’ve been hearing lately.

1. “ Happy Birthday Mama!!!!”
Yeah, that’s the best Sound Byte ever.

What did you hear this week?

I’m off to work and then we are gearing up for the IA vs. PSU game. It’s a night game, and I can’t wait. There’s something magical about football under the lights.

Have a great weekend and make some magic.

  1. As I was dropping off my girls at school this morning, I saw one of my preschool students…and he called me by name! I loved it! (He is 3, and has some special needs.)

By the way, I saw on Facebook that you won the SITS drawing this week for a FB page design! Congratulations!

    1. That’s a celebratory Sound Byte for sure!!! BTW – thanks for telling me I won the FB page design, I would have been totally clueless till I got the email. So ironic that I just launched my FB page a couple of days ago. HA!
