Five Minute Friday {On Saturday}: Unexpected

The snow fell heavy as I began writing, not knowing if anyone would read my words or even care. I hoped against hope that at least someone would hear my voice, that for once I would be heard. My expectations were low, even if one person, just one, commented or read it then I would be happy.

Eleven months later I am surprised and humbled. The unexpected happened. Strangers started commenting; they started listening. And now strangers are friends and I’m feeling inspired and have a shoulder to lean on when I’ve had a tough day {or two}.

Connections and commonalities are stronger than I’ve ever experienced. I never expected to be part of a community and welcomed with open arms, but I am, and it feels good to be heard.
