Please welcome our first guest poster. I met Gem at Virtual Coffee, and we immediately hit it off. E thinks it’s pretty cool that she lives in London, and repeatedly asks if we can fly over for a visit. Someday…
______________
Hey, where to begin. Well, I have been a reader and follower of Redhead Reverie for quite some time now, almost a year if not longer. Isn’t it just such a fab place to be, I especially like the sound bytes, they put a smile on my face every Friday. When I was asked to feature on the blog I jumped at the chance. I guess that is why I am here now, I just hope I can keep the standards up there.
Okay so how about a bit more about me. My name is Gem, I’m a twenty something English city girl with a heart for the English countryside. I have been blogging myself for 2 years this August. You can come and see me over at Gem’s Country Life Dream where I write about crafts, days out and general homemaking, at least I think that would be the best way of describing my little space in blog world.
I’m a list maker, I love a list. I have lists for all sorts of things from shopping, to jobs around the home, to things I would like to do or achieve and places I would like to visit. A Bucket List. I’ve been writing my bucket list for a good few years now, I would say roughly about seven years. That long that I couldn’t leave it at just one list so I started another one of all the things I had achieved from my original bucket list and I have been adding to both lists as the years have gone by.
Like many bloggers out there, I am too addicted to Pinterest and have even started a Bucket List Board that you can check out here.
A snap shot of my list looks a little bit like this:
- Meet Usher
- Enter a garden in the Chelsea Flower Show
- Visit Auschwitz in Poland
- See the Northern Lights
- Stay in the Ice Hotel
- Put a padlock on the lovers bridge in Paris
- Go jet skiing
- Trek on an elephants back through Thailand
- Ride on a Gondola in Venice
- Go on Safari
Now I know obviously some of these are more achievable than others but surely that is the whole point of it right?!
Some things I have been lucky enough to achieve already are:
Looked over New York from the top of the Empire State
Reaching the top of the Eiffel Tower
Watched the fountains in Barcelona
Swimming with Dolphins
Escaped from Alcatraz
There are more but seriously we could be here all day and night going through both of these lists. Life is short and I am a firm believer in grasping any opportunity tightly in both hands and living for the moment. The best example of this that is also relating to Bucket Lists is the film The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, if you haven’t seen it I suggest you watch it, just make sure you have a box of tissues by your side.
Thanks so much for having me and listening to my ramblings, maybe we will bump into each other again sometime.
Love Gem x x x x
Fantastic photos! The things you’ve crossed off your list sure do look fun!
