Guest Post: Lenae’s List

I was so excited when Brook contacted me about sharing my Bucket List here at Redhead Reverie.  I’ve been an avid list keeper since I was fairly young (the organization!  The aspirations!  Be still, my heart!), but her invitation made me realize that I don’t remember the last time I jotted down some things I’d like to accomplish in my life.  This hasn’t been for lack of items to fill said list.  No, with my days fairly busy keeping up with my littles and –in the past 6 months– adjusting to life overseas, I’ve just kept the list running in my head, mostly a muted, glowing orb on a shelf in the back of my subconscious.

Brook’s post on scratching an item off her own Bucket List this past weekend contained a simple truth which sums up so well the thrill I felt while intentionally compiling a Bucket List: “I live a fuller life when I’m working toward something.”  The beauty of a Bucket List is that it is versatile and flexible — our dreams are as unique and varied as our personalities, right?  And Bucket Lists are fabulously in Edit mode, deliciously available to be rearranged and added to; as we grow, so can our lists.

Lastly, Bucket Lists can be that spark that helps craft together our life tapestries, becoming the detail in some spots, forming a brilliant shape in others.  All the somethings we work toward add depth to the anchors of our priorities. Whether our realized dreams reverberate across the continents or within the inspired hearts and minds of those who know us, they serve to keep generations in forward motion, grasping for God’s grand purposes in each of our lives while we hold tight to the ones we care about.

Cheers, friends!
