It has been my friend and nemesis.
It has been short and long.
Blonde then red.
Lately, let me rephrase that … since I’ve had kids, my hair, while it’s looked nice has been anything, but stylish. More like a wash and go, easy peasy get me out the door on time I’ll make it work kind of hairdo.
I’ve been growing it out, and I decided it needed to be more of a hairstyle instead of just a limp mess on top of my head. It needed something different.
I spent hours pinning hairstyles, trying to find something, and I kept coming across bangs.
Seriously…bangs.
I have nightmares of schelached sky-high bangs pointing toward the sky like a unicorn horn. As a child of the 80’s, I might accept the fact that skinny jeans with ankle zippers are coming back in style , but I just can’t wrap my mind around bangs.
Then I really started looking at the hairstyles, and to be honest they were cute.
But … would they look cute on me?
So I Googled Virtual Hairstyles and found Tazz, an awesome FREE program that lets you “try on” virtual hairstyles and make up looks.
I uploaded a headshot and viola. There I was with bangs. Side sweep, long, asymmetric, you name it I tried them all on.
Then I saved my favorites and showed them to my stylist.
“Do you think I could pull off bangs,” I asked with apprehension. “I don’t want to use product and I still need it to be easy peasy.”
She nodded an emphatic “YES” and the scissors began cutting.
And then there were bangs!
The 2013 bangin’ bang style is much better than the 90’s style, and it takes ALOT less hair spray.
In fact it takes absolutely nothing, but a round brush and a hair dryer. Yep…this the perfect cut for me. It takes two seconds in the morning, which means more time for the boys and I can still get to work on time.
And I actually look dare I say it …Stylish…

I love it! I had long straight STRAIGHT hair that was blah after Jacob. Just seemed easy to put it in a ponytail. It was easy…and ugly. Anyway, took a risk, chopped it off and have never looked back. Love the color btw.
